Obituary of Edward W. Ault

Edward W. ‘Pete’ Ault, age 81, of Dundee, Michigan passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was born in Sayre, Bradford County, Pennsylvania October 4, 1934 the son of Franklin and Ardenta (Klinko) Ault. He married Sharon R. McGrath on August 8, 1987 in Rossford, Ohio. After graduating from high school in Pennsylvania, Pete joined the United States Navy serving on the USS Henely. After completing his reserves he then joined the United States Army where he wss a Sgt. In the reserves. He worked for the Dundee Cement Company from 1959 until his retirement. He was employee # 1. He was very active in military affairs. He is a member of Monroe Post 1138 VFW and was a member of the ritual honors team; was county Commander of the American Legion; was chaplain of the Lynn C. Weeman Post # 514 American Legion in Ida; served as Chef de Guere of the Monroe County 40 et 8; was aumonier of the 40 et 8; was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post at Dundee; was a Civil War Re-enactor with the Michigan 7th and 4th Infantry; rode 4 wheelers and motorcycles; worked at the Cabela’s Store in Dundee after it opened in the gun gallery; received his 60 year Masonic Lodge membership pin from Sayre, PA; was on the wrecking crew; was a member of the Mio Loyal Order of the Moose and the Eagles in Rossford, Ohio. He also coached his daughters softball leagues. He is survived by wife his Sharon; his daughters Tina (Rick) Rymanowicz of Maybee; Valerie Harrison of Dundee; Kim (Ed) Mandelka of Maybee and Janine (Jim) Fail of Redford; stepson Jeff Wilkins of Oak Harbor, OH and step daughter Brenda Provenzale of Oak Harbor, OH; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and brother Frank Ault. Friends may call on Monday August 29, 2016 from 1 – 8 PM at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156)where Military Honors will be conducted at 7 PM by VFW Post 1138 of Monroe and American Legion, 40 et 8, and other comrades. Cremation will follow the services. Memorials to American Diabetes Association or to American Heart Association would be appreciated.
