Obituary of Betty R. Fox

Betty R. Fox, age 71, of Dundee passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016 under her families care at the Arbor Hospice Residence in Ann Arbor. She was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee February 6, 1945 the daughter of Monta and Ida (Dunn) Britt. She attended school in Adrian and married Peter D. Fox April 13, 1963 in Zion, Illinois. He passed away July 15, 2009. Betty had worked for General Motors for over 20 years. She started at The Livonia Inland Plant, transferred to Tecumseh Fisher Body and then finally to the Adrian Hydramatic Plant. She retired in 1993. She and her husband had collected Beanie Babies. She also was an excellent cook, especially southern dishes; loved gardening; bingo when she was younger; was an Avon Lady and was a member of its Presidents Club. She also loved spending time with her family and grandkids and was known to all of them as “Nonnie”. Betty is survived by her mother Ida Flores of Adrian; sons Phillip Fox of Lincoln Park and Kenneth (Dawn) Fox of Melvindale; daughter Kristina (Luke) Abbott of Grass Lake, Michigan; grandchildren Jason Ozog, Jennifer DiMilia, Kenneth Bradley Fox, Stephanie Ingram, Thomas Ozog, Brandon Fox, Patrick Fox and Jessica Abbott, Jennifer Abbott and Nicolas Abbott; great-grandchildren Kiley, Khloie, Caroline, Aubriegh, Lucy and Landyn; step brother Tommy (Margaret) Britt of Foley, Alabama; sisters Linda Johnson of Monroe and Virginia Penney of Adrian; step sisters Barbara Hyder of Elizabethton, Tennessee; Jean (Ed) Hall of Hackelburg, Alabama; Alice (Buddy) Brandon of Pontotoc, Mississippi, sister in law Rachel Britt of North Carolina. She was predeceased by her husband Peter, father Monta, stepfather Tony Flores, brother Carl Britt, brother in law David Penney, step-brother in law Verl Hyder. Friends may call Saturday from 3 - 7 PM at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156) Friends may also call on Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 1 PM until a 2 PM funeral service at the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Rick Lochlear. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Dundee. Memorials may be made to Arbor Hospice, 2366 Oak Valley Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48103.
