Obituary of Raymond D. Hoover
Raymond D. Hoover, 83, of Petersburg, Michigan passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 14, 2016. He was born in Willard, Ohio March 26, 1933 the son of Walter and Ella Jane (Kilgore) Hoover. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1953. He completed his reserves in 1961. He attained the rank of Corporal. He then went to work for Dura Corporation and worked there for 43 years until the plants closing. He is a member of the Deerfield American Legion 0392 and participated with the Summerfield VFW Post and the Lambertville VFW Posts. He is a former member of the Dundee Sportsman Club, loved fishing and NASCAR but especially loved riding his Harley Davidson. He married Bernice Baranowski in 1965 at the Monroe County Courthouse. Friends may call on Friday from 1-8 PM at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156). His funeral will be Saturday at the funeral home, June 18, 2016. Please call the funeral home for the time of service. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Petersburg with Military Graveside Services.. Ray is survived by a son Michael Ray Quakenbush of Pontiac, Michigan: daughters Rachele (Eric) Knerr of Petersburg, Stacy (Tony) Colley of Addison, Michigan, Yvette Hoover of Petersburg, Balbina Hoover-Crumley of Monroe, and JoAnn (Bob) Begley of Belleville; grandchildren Brian, Cody, Raelyn, Corey, Robby, Kirk and Landon: great-gandchildren Ashton, Hunter, Caden, Nathan and Mason: siblings Lucy (John) Epoch of Monroe, Wilma (Richard) Grandowicz of Petersburg, Homer Jay (Maxine) Hoover of Temperance, Mary (Jerry) Dixon of Irons, Michigan, Robert Wentworth of Petersburg, Tom Wentworth of Petersburg , William (Windy) Wentworth of Petersburg, Sue (Mike) Stewart of Wellston, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 grandsons Jason Kopka, Ryan Kopka and Brandon Mosingo: sister Stella Hoover, brothers Loyd Hoover, Louis (Shorty) Hoover and Jerry Wentworth.
