Obituary of John Michael Rydman

John M. ‘Mike’ Rydman, age 69 of Dundee and formerly of Grand Rapids, Ohio passed away under his families care at the University Hospital in Ann Arbor on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. Mike was born in Toledo October 17, 1946 the son of Walter and Martha (Kane) Rydman. He graduated from Macomber Vocational High School in 1964 before joining the US Air Force. He attained the rank of SSgt. He retired from the Jeep Plant in Toledo in 2008 as a maintenance supervisor and as an electrician. He married Paulette Kozack Brososky in Ida, Michigan May 6, 2006 and moved to Dundee. He loved to travel, loved history, going to museums, going sightseeing, drinking coffee on their deck in the early morning, and especially loved his dog Nicky. Survivors include his wife Paulette; step-children Chuck ‘Jenelle’ Brososky Jr. of Ida, Sophia (Missy) ’Jeff’ Nash of Georgetown, TX, Jennifer Brososky of Huntington, IN, and Amy ‘Scott’ Swanson of Temperance; Children Lesley ‘Andy’ Ohmann of NC, Becky ‘Paul’ Fuller of NC and Rachel ‘Gabe’ Huth of Toledo; step-children Gar ‘Elena’ Scarberry of Swanton, OH and Gale “Jeff’ Rhymer of Toledo: 29 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, parents, brothers David and Danny Rydman and wife Norma Jean Horen who passed away Sept. 7, 2003. Friends may call from 1 – 8 PM on Friday, April 8, 2016 at the Cover Funeral Home in Dundee (734-529-3156). A service of remembrance will be held at 7 PM. Private family graveside services will be held Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Hockman Cemetery in McClure, Ohio. Memorials in his name may be made to any cancer organization.
