Obituary of Dorothy P. Dlabal

Dorothy Pearl Dlabal was born April 13, 1929 in Petersburg, Michigan and died Monday, June 22, 2015 at MediLodge Nursing Home in Monroe. She was the daughter of Joseph and Katerina (Tryska) Dlabal. Dorothy graduated from Petersburg High School in 1947. She worked at Purolator in Petersburg from 1950-1953. She also wrote for the local Petersburg Sun Newspaper from 1975 until 1989, and was a member of the Petersburg Presbyterian and United Methodist Church’s. Dorothy was a longtime Petersburg resident until moving into the nursing home in Monroe in 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Vlasta (Gebert) Wright of Petersburg and Lila (Dlabal) Moules of Howell, and brothers Esta Gebert of Adrian and Charles Dlabal of Deerfield. Friends may call from 10 AM until service at 11 AM on Friday, June 26, 2015 at the Petersburg United Methodist. Arrangements were handled by the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156) Burial will follow immediately at Pleasant View Cemetery in Petersburg. A memorial luncheon at the church will follow the cemetery committal service.
