Obituary of Stephen M. Petrak

Stephen M. Petrak, age 56, a resident of Britton/Monroe, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the Arbor Hospice Residence in Ann Arbor. Steve was born in Monroe June 6, 1956 the son of Knowlton Forbes Petrak and Phyllis Jane Bates. He married Marilyn L. Watson on July 24, 2012 at the University Hospital in Ann Arbor. He grew up in Monroe and attended Monroe public schools was a trained diesel mechanic. He had worked for Nollenberger Truck Center and also maintained the fleet for Mann’s Lumber. He loved fixing and building things and helped build the River Raisin Marina. He also enjoyed boating and fishing and owned his own boat. Friends may call from 2 PM until 6 PM services Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156/888-383-4176) Officiating will be Rev. Rick Jewett, pastor of the Deerfield Free Methodist Church. In accordance with his wishes cremation will follow all the services. Survivors include his wife Marilyn, stepchildren Christopher Watson, Michelle (Steven) Cummings and Jason Watson; step grandchildren Sommer, Samantha, Amanda and Brook Cummings; brothers David Petrak and Marty Good and sisters Prudence Eppers, DeRuth Miles and Lorey Roop.
