Obituary of Arnold Fritzler

Arnold Fritzler, age 80, of Dundee, Michigan passed away at 7:54 P.M., Friday, January 2012 at Mercy Memorial Hospital Intensive Care Unit in Monroe. He was born July 29, 1931 in Engadine, Michigan the son of Gottfried and Molly (Schneider) Fritzler. He served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War and was a member of the Harry W. Bamm American Legion Post 72 in Dundee. He was employed for 30 years at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor as a pipe fitter and plumber and was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. He had also farmed for 47 years in Dundee and Raisinville Townships. He loved spending time with his family, gardening, working with his hands and farming, also loved his bee’s and attending auctions. He is also a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Dundee. He married Rita J. Smith on April 25, 1952 at St. John Lutheran Church. Officiant was Rev. Fred Cesler. He is survived by his wife Rita, two sons David (Linda) Fritzler of Lakeview, MI and Ronald Fritzler of Chicago; three daughters Cynthia Fritzler (John Strazanac) of West Virginia, Janet (Ed) Michaels of Carleton, MI and Laura (Don) Huff of Manchester, MI; a brother Robert (Peggy) Fritzler of Dundee; three sisters Edna Burgess of Dundee, Ruth Garlough of Pinckney, MI and Lillian Fritzler of Ann Arbor; grandchildren Eric Fritzler, Jason Fritzler COS1 US Navy, Benjamin Fritzler, Laurel Strazanac, Logan Huff and Derek Huff; three great grandchildren Celeste Lannen, Zoe Fritzler and Gaby Fritzler. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Albert and Gerald. Friends may call on Sunday from 5-8 P.M. and Monday from 2-8 P.M. at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156) He will lie in state on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at St. John Lutheran Church in Dundee from 10:00 A.M. until services at 11:00 A.M.. Officiating will be the Rev. Annette Griffin. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Dundee. Memorials may be made to the Rev. Cesler Memorial Fund at St. John Lutheran Church.
