Obituary of Clara Bowles

Clara A. Bowles, 97, died at 10:30 A.M., Thursday morning April 14, 2011 at Medilodge in Monroe. She was born in Hamtramck, Michigan November 25, 1913 to Peter and Mary (Fenske) Perzyk. She married Roy D. Bowles January 17, 1948 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Detroit. He passed away September 20, 2001. They moved to Dundee and started farming together in 1955. Clara is a member of St. Irene Catholic Church in Dundee and is a member of the Dundee Senior Citizens. Many years ago she had worked at the Family Theater in Detroit and the old Dodge Main Assembly Auto Plant in Detroit. Survivors include a daughter Darlene C. Bowles of Dundee; a sister Jean (Ted) Zator of Kentwood, Michigan; two nieces Rebecca (Doug) Lectka of Caledonia, Michigan and Nancy (Jason) Kress of Detroit, Michigan; great nephews Sean and Eric Lectka and Michael J. Gunjak and great niece Danielle (Al) Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister Sally Perzyk. Friends may call on Sunday from 1 – 8 P.M. at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156) She will lie in state on Monday, April 18, 2011 from 9:30 A.M. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Irene Catholic Church . Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Michael Woroniewicz. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Dundee. There will be a Rosary recited at the funeral home at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday.
