Obituary of Francis Vance
Francis Vance was born on November 7, 1942 in West Hamlin, West Virginia. He was one of seven children born from the union of his parents: the late Columbus Vance and the late Nancy (Wiley) Vance.
Francis met and married the love of his life: Ramona McNeely and they were married on September 26, 1964. It was from this union that came the birth of their two children. To support his family, he worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator in Mining and Construction for many years until retiring.
Francis enjoyed the outdoors and spent countless hours hunting, fishing, camping, boating and riding four-wheelers. He was a good cook and made the best dumplings. He enjoyed making those around him laugh by telling jokes and was always sociable and willing to talk to anyone. When he got ill, he moved from West Virginia to Michigan to be closer to his daughter.
Above anything, Francis loved his family. He was a loving husband and father and would do anything for his family. His sense of humor and loving nature are just a few things that will be deeply missed by his family and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Francis Vance, age 76 of Carleton and formerly of West Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at his home with loved ones. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters: Mary Elizabeth Rakes, Geraldine Lambert and LouEllen May.
