Obituary of Sheila Raye

Sheila Earnhardt was born on February 22, 1954 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She was one of three children born from the union of her parents: the late Ira Earnhardt and the late Nina (Norris) Duffy. She received her education by attending Milan High School. To support her family, she worked at Ford Motor Company as a Tool and Die maker. She attended trade school while working to receive her Journeyman’s Card and was a member of the UAW Local 898.

Sheila loved her family and always looked forward to holidays and family get-togethers'. She loved spoiling her children and did so even when they were adults. She always made sure to give them Easter baskets and Valentines Day gifts to let them know she was always thinking of them. This tradition carried on with her grandchildren and she cherished time spent with them.

She would never shy away from a camera and would take selfies with anyone and anything. She was very generous and would help anyone in need. Her loving and caring nature are just a few things that will be missed by her family and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Sheila Raye, age 65 of Newport, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving daughters. Her passing is preceded by her brother: Jerry Earnhardt and her parents.

To cherish her memory, she leaves her children: Nina (Bryan) Smith, Brandy (James) VanSickle, Jessica (Thomas) Hamilton and Marisa (Christopher) Small; her grandchildren: Tasha Vinton, Kurtis Champagne, Keith Champagne, Tabatha Champagne, Roman Senavanh-Smith, Hailen Senavanh-Smith, Christopher Small, LaShailyn Small, Mariah Small, Jaden Smith, Brantley Small and Cainen Small; her great grandchildren: Laila, Aurora, Shy, Kyle, Aubrey, Leana, Adeline, Keaton, Zaine, Marleigh, Deakon, Kealyn, Aleigha and Ke’Onte; her brother: Ira “Ike” Earnhardt and many extended family members and friends.
