David E. Walasinski died on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the ICU at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital . He was born on February 10, 1938 at Toledo, Ohio the son of Edward and Helen (Trycinski) Walasinski. He was a 1956 graduate of Woodward High School and a graduate of Michigan State University and the Illinois Institute of Technology of Chicago. David married Margery Barga on March 9, 1973 in Toledo, Ohio. David was a Design and Structural Engineer working in various companies and consulting though out his 40 year career. David loved to cook and enjoyed trying new and different cuisines. He also loved the outdoors and instilled a love and respect for nature through his actions and activities. Because of his love of history and design he enjoyed building model railroads though out his life. His historic Hawaiin Garden Railroad was featured in The Gardens Railway Magazine. He continued working on miniature models and dioramas for his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Margery of 44 years; children Todd Walasinski, Jeff Walasinski, Nadia (Matt) Bechler and Kathryn (Charles) Squires; granddaughters Maiya Squires and Izzy and Tessa Bechler; grandsons Chad, David and Daniel Walasinski; great-granddaughter Kara. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Laura in 2015. Friends may call from 3 – 6 PM on Friday, September 22, 2017 at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156). A prayer service will be held at 6 PM by the Rev. Douglas Olsen, a retired Methodist pastor from Dundee. Cremation will follow the services. Memorials may e made to any charity of the donor’s choice.
