Obituary of Pete L. Ritsema

Pete ‘Ross” L. Ritsema, age 47, of Dundee, formerly of Brighton and Dearborn Hts, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 under the care of his family. . He was born in Bogota, Columbia on July 15, 1969. He was employed in the roofing and construction industry all of his life in the Detroit metropolitan area. He loved spending time with his family and friends; loved golf; was a very hard working and intelligent man. Pete married Bonnie McMillin on July 19, 1997 in Brighton, Michigan. His wish was to donate his remains to the University of Michigan Medical School for medical research. There will be a memorial service for him on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 3 PM at the Brighton United Methodist Church, 400 E. Grand River, Brighton , Michigan 48116. Survivors include his wife Bonnie; son Anto’ Ritsema and daughter Ladi’ Ritsema, both at home; his parents Robert and Barbara (Lewis) Ritsema of Brighton; 2 brothers Rodney Ritsema of Brighton and Ryan (Sarah) Ritsema of Texas; sister Claudia (Mike) Spernock of Tecumseh. He was preceded in death by a son Miguel Ritsema in 2001.Arrangements were handled by the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156).
