Mrs. Geraldine May Vanderbush, 92, of Britton, Michigan, died peacefully at home Saturday, May 21, 2016. Mrs. Vanderbush was born in Evart, Michigan, in 1924 and graduated from Carleton High School, Carleton, Michigan, in 1942. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Edwin J. Vanderbush; her parents Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Brooks of Dansville, Michigan; a brother, Warren Brooks, also of Dansville; brother-in-law Floyd Cosgray of Stockbridge, MI, brother-in-law Mike Cosgray also of Stockbridge, great-granddaughter Kaylynn Marie Miller of Britton, and son-in-law Norman W. Shearin, Jr. of Kure Beach, NC. Survivors include daughter Susan Shearin of Kure Beach, NC, daughter Ellen Miller and her husband, Lee, of Britton, MI, son Erwin Vanderbush and his wife, Mary Lonn, of Kewadin, MI, grandchildren Aaron Miller and wife Sandy of Britton, Jason Miller and wife Shannon of Britton, Jeanette Miller of Britton, Brooks Vanderbush and wife Lisa of Traverse City, MI, Zach Vanderbush of Truckee, CA, Taylor Vanderbush and fiancé Crystal Pauze of Acme, MI, step-grandson Stephen Shearin of Flagler Beach, FL, and step-granddaugher Melissa Grow of Boynton Beach, FL. Surviving great-grandchildren are Alex Miller, Abby Miller and fiancé Guillermo Uresti, Ariel Miller, Danny Miller, Archer Vanderbush, Hannah Vanderbush, Evan Lyon, and step-great-grandchildren Jameson and Wesley Nicula, Angela Feteke, and Tyler, Kayla, and Peyton Grow. Also surviving are sister Eleanor Cosgray of Stockbridge, MI, brother Leonard Brooks and wife Ilene of Mason, MI, sister Evelyn Staats and husband Jesse of Jackson, MI, sister Dorothy Cosgray of Stockbridge, MI, brother Robert Brooks and wife Lou of Evart, MI, brother Richard Brooks and wife Beverly of Mancelona, MI, sister Diane Graf and husband Glenn of Stockbridge, MI, sister-in-law Alice Opferman of Ida, MI, brother-in-law Marvin Vanderbush and wife Sally of Rose City, MI, sister-in-law Joan Wambold of Tybee Island, GA, and many loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Visitation will be held at Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street, Dundee, Michigan, (734-529-3156) on Tuesday, May 24 from 1:00 to 2:00. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. Interment will be at Ridgeway Cemetery, Ridgeway, MI, following the services. Rev. John White of Milan Free Methodist Church, where Mrs. Vanderbush was a long-time member, will officiate.
