Denise Jane Mang was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 18, 1955. She was one of three children born from the union of the late Paul H. Mang and the late Dorothy (Kiroff) Mang. She graduated from Waite High School and went on to attend the University of Toledo and then Kirkwood Community College, traveling to Russia and Bulgaria as an exchange student. Denise married Tim Grove on January 3, 1977. She was a dedicated homemaker taking care of the couple's two children. Denise being very family oriented, cherished her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Denise was an animal lover, adventurous, and loved Northern Michigan. In the early 90's, she fulfilled two lifelong dreams by moving to Gaylord and opening her own pet store. In the late 90's she moved back to Monroe and took employment as a bus driver for Toledo Head Start. She enjoyed helping others get started with their own salt water aquariums. Denise had been attending Trinity Lutheran Church. Denise, age 58 of Newport passed away peacefully at 12:06am, Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at her home. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by a brother: James Mang; and a sister: Paulette Gosset. To cherish her memory she leaves two daughters: Stephanie Grove (Nicholas Tammarine) of Toledo and Nicole Grove of Newport; six grandchildren: Megan, Michael, Madison, and Maycee Tammarine, Robert M. Hann Iii and Delilah Jane Hann; five nieces and nephews: Michelle (Stewart) Sarchenko, James (Kelly) Mang Jr., Bridgette (Matt) Carroll, Pierre Gosset, and Ian Gosset; and her former spouse: Tim. Friends may gather for a Celebration of Her Life at 11:00am, Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church Chapel, 323 Scott Street (use Fellowship Hall entrance at rear of building). Reverend Jeffrey Heimsoth pastor of the church will officiate. A luncheon prepared in her honor will follow for those in attendance. Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 has been entrusted with her arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial s are suggested to Trinity or to the family to assist with funeral expenses. The Mang family is eternally grateful to their Heavenly Father for showing his love through Denise's caretakers including Mercy Memorial Hospice and Hospital staff, Dr. Trivedi's office, and her neighbor Michael Newton.
