Obituary of Charles L. Reifert

Charles L. (Chuck) Reifert, age 73, of Waterville, Ohio formerly a resident of Dundee passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio under the care of his family and the hospice. He was born in Monroe, Michigan March 31, 1940 the son of James D. and Doris V. (Grosteffon) Reifert. He married Beverly A. Rise on August 24, 1963 at St. John Lutheran Church . He was a member of the Dundee High School Class of 1958. He served his country as an air po9liceman in the US Air Force from 1958-1962. He had worked at the Ford Motor Co. Rawsonville Plant from 1962-1972; was a school bus driver at Dundee Community Schools 1975-2005; owned with his wife the Reifert’s Hallmark Store in Dundee 1972-1997; was a member of the Ye Olde Hunt Club in Dundee; was a past member of the Dundee Volunteer Fire Department and the Dundee Recreation Commission; was a volunteer at the St. Luke Hospital Gift Shop. He is survived by his wife Beverly; daughter Suzan (Jim) Pant of Maumee, Ohio; grandsons Greg Johnson and Charlie Johnson; step-grandson Joe (Jenni) Pant of Kalamazoo and step great-grandson Jackson; brother Don (Susan) Reifert of Howell, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Frederick who died in 1960. Friends and family will gather at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156) on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 2 –8 P.M. He will lie in state at Community of Christ Lutheran Church, 6517 Finzel Road in Whitehouse, Ohio, Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 10 AM until 11 AM services. Officiating will be the Rev. Matt Lash, pastor of the church. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will follow the services. A funeral dinner in his memory will immediately follow the services at the church Saturday. Cremains interment will take place later at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dundee.
