Obituary of Gerald Eric Rogers
Gerald E. Rogers, 77, of Dundee died October 10, 2011 at Arbor Hospice Residence in Ann Arbor . He was born in Monroe, Michigan May 29, 1934 to Eric and Lydia (Kallio) Rogers. He married Marlene Zimmerman July 26, 1958. He was a lifelong farmer and dairyman and also worked at Mercy Memorial Nursing Center in Monroe. He graduated from Dundee High School in 1953 and the short Agriculture Course at Michigan State University in 1954. He was a 4-H Leader for 20 years, was a member and former chairman of the London Township planning commission and restored antique tractors. Survivors include his wife Marlene, a daughter Ginger Rogers of Dundee, two sons Brian (Rebecca) Rogers of Maybee and Tim (Pat) Rogers of Maybee; a brother Paul (June) Rogers of Minnesota, 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings William Rogers, Kathryn Wallen and Lois Herman. Friends may call on Thursday from 1 – 9 P.M. at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156) Funeral services will be held Friday, October 14, 2011 at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. Officiating will be Rev. Annette Griffin. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle. Memorials may be made to American Lung Association.
