Obituary of Joan Beach

Joan E. Beach, 69, formerly of Oil City, died Tuesday, January 20, 2015, in Dundee MI. Born May 23, 1945 in Franklin, she was a daughter of the late Melvin T. and Catherine Heffern Silves. She had worked at multiple banks, locally at First Seneca Bank and Northwest Bank. Joan was a former member of Good Hope Lutheran Church. She left Oil City in 1980 moving to Shreveport LA, later Madison OH, Knoxville TN and lastly to Dundee MI.On November 28, 1963 she married Tim Beach, who preceded her in death on September 19, 1995. Surviving are a son, Michael Beach and wife Brandy of Dundee MI; a daughter, Susan Bastawros and husband David of Plano TX; four grandchildren, Matthew and Allison Bastawros and Savanah and Bentley Beach. Also surviving are a sister, Marilyn Johnson and husband William of Geneva OH; four sisters-in-law, Diane Tarr and husband Rod of Shreveport LA, Linda Miller of Oil City, Lori Bly and husband Fred of Oil City, and Jackie Beach of Houston TX; and multiple nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Morrison Funeral Home, and on Saturday at the Free Methodist Church of Oil City from noon to 1:30 pm. Funeral services will be held at the Free Methodist Church of Oil City at 1:30 Saturday. Interment will be in Rockland Cemetery.
