Paul Raymond Fairchild was born in Monroe, Michigan on September 20, 1949. He was the son of Francis "Ed" Fairchild and Violet (Stihler) Fairchild. Paul attended Monroe Schools and graduated with the Class of 1967. He enlisted in the United States Navy serving his country honorably from 1968 to 1972. Paul married the love of his life, the former Prudence "Prudy" Pifer, on May 25, 1974 at Grace Lutheran Church. From this union came the birth of two children. Paul supported the family with employment at Ford Motor Company. He worked as an assembly worker for more than thirty-three years retiring in 2001. Paul loved the outdoors. When he wasn't working he enjoyed going out on fishing trips, playing softball, or riding his motorcycle. He had a passion for woodworking and his specialty was lawn ornaments and wall décor. Paul was very quiet and easy going with a big heart. He could usually be found solving a puzzle of some sort while eating a moon pie. More than anything, Paul loved spending time with his family, and he cherished every opportunity. Paul Raymond Fairchild, age 63 of Monroe passed away 6:30am on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at his home.
