Obituary of Cathleen "Cathy" Perkins
Cathleen “Cathy” Perkins was born on July 2, 1956, in Monroe. She was one of eight children born to the late Kenneth and the late Donna Mae (Goins) Sharp. Cathy received her GED from Monroe Public Schools.
Cathy was blessed with two children. First and foremost, Cathy cared for her family. She was the matriarch of the family and was always the go-to person. She was a very loving mom who was always there to give her children advice. Cathy loved making big dinners and entertaining around the holidays. Cathy was also like a second mom to everyone she knew, and enjoyed needlework, and was always knitting or crocheting.
Cathy loved the outdoors and horses as well. She particularly liked to attend horse races at the Detroit area racetracks. She was a quiet person, whom anyone could come to for advice. Cathy was also a strong-willed, very loving, dependable, and a very giving person.
Cathleen "Cathy" Perkins, age 62, of Monroe passed away on May 25, 2019. Her passing was preceded by her parents, her sister; Debra Kay Scznsny, her brothers; Kenneth “Spanky” Sharp, Wade Sharp, and Dean Sharp; and a brother-in-law: Larry Willis.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her significant other of over fourteen years, Dirk Michael Sisung; her daughter, April Dawn Mason of California; her son, Gary Wayne Bolton Jr. (Amber) of Clyde, Ohio; her sister; Cheryl Lynn Willis of Newport; her brothers, Kevin Dennis Sharp of Detroit Beach, Brian Kelly Sharp of Monroe; her granddaughter, Erin Jean Bolton of Clyde, OH, six nieces and nephews, 19 great nieces and nephews, and numerous relatives and friends.
Friends may gather on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 10:00am until 12:00 noon at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe. A Service of Remembrance will take place at 12:00 noon, also at Merkle’s. Procession will follow to Woodland Cemetery, Monroe for burial.
