Michael Camillo

Obituary of Michael James Camillo

Michael James Camillo was born on August 16, 1943 in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of twelve children born from the union of his parents: the late Frank Camillo and the late Carmella (Patterfritz) Camillo. He met the love of his life: the former Sandi Torrance and they were married on July 31, 1987 in Monroe. To support his family, he worked as a Coil Spring Operator for Ford Motor Company for over 22 years until retiring in 1999.

Michael liked working with his hands and enjoyed carpentry work. Over the years he built an addition on his home, a shed and multiple pieces of furniture. He believed in hard work and dedication and committed himself to taking care of his family. He was a loving husband and a wonderful father. He remained close with his brother; helping him roof houses on the side.

When he wasn’t tinkering in his garage on different projects, he enjoyed looking at and admiring classic cars and listening to rock and roll. In his downtime, he enjoyed the comfort of his couch watching his favorite movies and television shows alongside his dogs. He even enjoyed the company of cats, thanks to his daughter introducing him to their playful antics.

His huge heart and kind soul are just a few things that will be deeply missed by his family and friends. To know him, was to love him and he will forever be cherished by those he left behind.

Michael James Camillo, age 75 of Monroe, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2019 at Wellspring Lutheran Services.
