Alvin Breitner

Obituary of Alvin Harold Breitner

Alvin Harold Breitner was born on April 26, 1937 in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of four children of the late James Breitner and the late Dorothy (Day) Breitner. His family lived in LaSalle.  He graduated from Monroe High School in 1955. Alvin enlisted in the National Guard, proudly served his country and was honorably discharged in 1957.

He met the love of his life and soulmate Helen Uckele, also of LaSalle and they were married October 10, 1956 in Monroe. They were blessed with three children: one son and two daughters. Alvin worked at the Ida division of Monroe County Road Commission.  After taking an early retirement, he and his wife headed to Cody, Wyoming where he worked for the hospital.  Al and Helen spent their time raising their family and enjoying life together.  They explored the outdoors and spent countless hours hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and enjoying each others company.  They  also lived in East Tawas and Port Huron before returning to Monroe.

Above anything, Alvin loved his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather who cherished time spent with his family. He had a great sense of humor and a kind soul who was loved by everyone he met. His caring nature and loving personality are just a few things that will be missed by his family and friends. To know Alvin was to love him and he will be deeply missed.
