Stanley Mullen Sr.

Obituary of Stanley Mullen Sr.

Stanley Mullen Sr. was born on April 7, 1933 in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of nine children born from the late Joseph and the late Mary (Banek) Mullen. Stanley enlisted in the United States Army in April of 1953 and proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged in April of 1955.

Stanley met the love of his life, the former Joyce Kull and they were married on February 4, 1956 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Monroe. From this union came the birth of their two children: one son and one daughter. He worked hard to support his family as a Skilled Tradesman for Ford Motor Company for over 30 years until retiring in 1982. He was a lifetime member of the Brest Bay Gun Club and he received his spiritual nourishment by attending Zion Lutheran Church in Monroe.

Stanley enjoyed time spent outdoors hunting, fishing and tending to his vegetable garden. He always looked forward to taking trips up North to his cabin in Farwell, Michigan. It was there they spent countless hours enjoying the company of friends and family and playing cards, especially Texas Holdem Poker.  In his spare time, he enjoyed birdwatching, reading his hunting magazines and watching his favorite television shows: Storage Wars and Pawn Stars.

Above anything, Stanley was a family man who dedicated his life to be a great husband, father and grandfather. While he was known to be stubborn at times, his huge heart always shown through. To know Stanley was to love him and he will be deeply missed.
