Michael Zacharias

Obituary of Michael Dennis Zacharias

Michael Dennis Zacharias was born on November 18, 1950 in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of five children born from the union of his parents: the late Raymond A. Zacharias and the late Irene (Benoit) Zacharias. He received his education from attending Airport High School and Monroe High School.

He met the love of his life: the former Veronica Workman and they were married on September 1, 1972 in Monroe. Together they would start a family of their own and were blessed with two children. To support his growing family, he worked at the Meijer Warehouse in the Department of Loss Prevention until retiring in 2008. He received his spiritual nourishment by attending Faith Salvation until joining Gracepoint U.P.C. in Monroe.

Michael enjoyed the simple things in life including listening to a variety of music, hunting, swimming, camping and being outdoors in the wilderness. He was a hot rod enthusiast who loved attending shows and even built a few to show off. He was most proud of his beloved 1971 GTO with a 426 engine with which he sadly parted ways with in 2008.He had an outgoing personality and enjoyed making those around him laugh by telling his infamous jokes.

His main priority in life was his family. He enjoyed having barbecues in the warmer weather to host his family and his church family and especially looked forward to spending Christmas with everyone because it was his favorite Holiday. There will forever be a void in the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
