Debbe Harris

Obituary of Debbe Irene Harris

Debbe Irene Harris was born in Monroe, Michigan on March 15, 1952.   She was one of four children born to the late Virgil Harris and the late Delcie (Smith) Harris.   Debbe was raised in Dundee and graduated with the Class of 1970 from Dundee High School.

She was blessed with the birth of two daughters.   Debbe was a wonderful mother and raising her two young girls to be ladies was her first priority.   For thirty years, Debbe supported her family being employed by the Ford Motor Company at the Milan Plant.   She worked in janitorial retiring in 2010.

Debbe was a wonderful person and she had a positive effect on all of those around her.   She made friends wherever she went, and she loved to spend time with people.   Debbe was very motherly to all of her nieces and nephews, and was generous with her gifts; sewing Halloween costumes and making clothes.   Debbe was a constant supporter at their games and events.   She was the family photographer, documenting get-togethers and also cataloging still-life.

Debbe enjoyed the quiet repose of her flower garden and taking long bike rides.   On June 6, 2008 in Toledo, Debbe was joined in marriage to Ronald Kelchak.   This union was a new and exciting chapter in her life.

Debbe Irene Kelchak Harris, age 66, of Dundee passed away at 7:59am on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at her home.   Her beloved family was at her side and she had been under the care of Great Lakes Caring Hospice.  In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by a brother:  Thomas Harris.

To cherish her memory she leaves her husband:  Ronald Kelchak of Dundee; two daughters:  Kristin Harris Ph.D. of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Kimberly (Majd) Ali of Toledo, Ohio; one sister:  Darla (Larry) Brancheau of Dundee; one brother:  Kevin Harris of Dundee; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
