Obituary of Sharon Lee Bathgate

 

Sharon Lee Duvall was born on June 12, 1941 in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of three children born from the union of: the late Sherwood and Ruth (Thompson) Duvall. She received her education from Monroe High School and graduated with the class of 1959.

 

Sharon met and married the love of her life: Milton Dean Bathgate on May 14, 1960. They decided to start a family and were blessed with three adopted children: two daughters and one son. She worked hard to keep a tidy home and always made sure that her family was well taken care of.

 

She loved spending time with her family and friends. She especially cherished the memories made with her grandchildren. Sharon was an accomplished cook and looked forward to hosting family gatherings to bring everyone together. She stayed active in her community by volunteering for many years at Raisinville Elementary School and in her spare time she enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

 

Her kind and caring nature are just a few things that will be deeply missed by her family and friends. To know Sharon was to love her and she will be missed by many.

 

Sharon Lee Bathgate, age 77 of Monroe, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 7:45am. Her passing is preceded by her husband of 53 years: Milton Bathgate and her parents.

 

To cherish her memory, she leaves three children: Heather (James) Barrett, Heidi (Steven) Stewart and Heath (Shelli) Bathgate; her two brothers: Ken (Joy) Duvall and Jeff (Jan) Duvall; her five grandchildren: Elizabeth Barrett, Bryce Stewart, Sydnie Stewart, Taylor Bathgate and Lindsey Bathgate and many extended family members and friends.

 

Family and Friends may gather on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 10:00am until 12:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Memorial Service will take place at 12:00pm also at Merkle’s with Kelly Voigt officiating. Memorial Donations are suggested to Catholic Social Services (Adoption Group) or Great Lakes Caring Hospice Foundation.
