Obituary of Marjorie Ann Wasilewski

Marjorie Ann Schneider was born in Carleton, Michigan, on September 22, 1935.   She was one of three children born to Ralph Schneider and Edith (Chopson) Schneider.   Marjorie attended Carleton High School.  

She would marry the love of her life, Raymond Wasilewski, on May 21st, 1955, at Saint Mary, Our Lady of the Annunciation in Rockwood, Michigan.   Together the couple would share in the birth of three daughters: Sandra, Debra, and Cynthia.   Marjorie was a devoted wife and mother.   She loved getting her family together especially hosting holidays and reunions.   Marjorie was always attentive to others’ needs often being a second mother to her nieces and nephews.

Marjorie was hard working and community minded.   For more than fifteen years she volunteered at The Monroe Hospital Gift Shop; wearing her green jacket with pride, the Monroe Thrift Shop, participated with the Auxillary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Carleton, and volunteered a short time at the Courthouse Information Desk.

Marjorie was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning.   Because of her kind, dependable, and forgiving nature she was well-liked by everyone and loved by most.   Marjorie was active in her parish, St. Patrick Church making many lifelong friends with her willingness to help others.

Marjorie Ann Wasilewski, age 83, of Monroe passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital.   Her passing was preceded by her parents; her beloved husband Raymond in 1996; two sisters:  Theresa Byrd and Madeline Schneider; and grandson Joel Calus.

To cherish her memory, she leaves her loving daughters: Sandra (David) Pullou, Debra Calus, and Cynthia (Brian) Watters; ten grandchildren: Dean P. (Catherine) Gaynier, Jessica (Jeff) Pratt, Brad Calus, Brittany Calus, Amanda Luciow, Kristina (Jason) Treece, Dana (David) Gurganus, Nicholas (Heather) Pullou, Cara (Cody) Rapai, Caitlin (Derek) Mosley; and nineteen great grandchildren.

Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185.   She will lie in state from 10:00am until Mass at 11:00am on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Divine Grace Parish, 2996 West Labo Road in Carleton.   Father Michael Woroniewicz pastor of the church will officiate.   Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery.
