Obituary of Terrill "Terrie" Viola Eastes
Terrill “Terrie” Viola Eastes was born on November 18, 1947 in Monroe. She was one of eight children born from the union of the late Bennie Mason and the late Irma Joyce (Kidd) Mason.
Terrie married the love of her life James Thomas Eastes on June 21, 1969 in Jonesboro Virginia. Terri and James were blessed with two children. Terri worked as a bartender at Side Track Saloon in Monroe for 15 years, retiring in 2013. She was a strong supporter of her children’s and grandchildren’s activities, attending their events. She was also active in the pool league at Side Track and enjoyed all types of games. Terrie was also a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was a very giving person who would take anyone in that needed help. Terrie was also very honest and strong-willed. She is remembered by her siblings as a very caring big sister. Terrie was also fond of animals, gardening and Facebook.
Family was most important to Terrie, she was a fabulous cook and loved spending time with all of them especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Terrie particularly enjoyed the holidays, especially Christmas.
Terrill “Terrie” Viola Eastes, age 71, of Monroe passed away on January 4, 2019. Her passing was preceded by her parents, her husband James, her sister Donna Mason and her daughter Kerrie Sue Eastes.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her son, Robert James Eastes (Michele) of Petersburg; her sisters, Susan Lynn Clark (John) and Barbara (Tom) Haddix both of Monroe, JoAnne (Jim) Wozniak of Toledo; her brothers, Dennis (Connie) Mason of Carleton, Frank Wesley (Jackie) Mason of Plymouth and Ben (Noreen) Mason of Monroe; her grandchildren, KaraLynn (Matt) Mozingo, Hannah Rogge, Makayla Estes, Morgan Maenle; her great grandchildren, Dominic Mozingo, Maleyah Bailey, SheaLynn Carter, Catalia Mozingo as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Friends may gather on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will take place on Wednesday, January 9, 2018 at 11:00am, also at Merkle’s.
