Obituary of Bethann Johnson

Bethann Irby was born in Monroe, Michigan on November 18, 1934.   She was one of two children born from the union of Dorthy (Kranz) Irby and Horace Irby.   At the age of 19, Bethann would marry the love of her life, Udell Johnson on June 6, 1953. 

The couple would share in the birth of two children:  Keith and Shelly.   Bethann cared for the needs of her husband and children.   She was always on the move and prided herself on keeping a clean home.   Bethann loved to visit with those she loved.

For twenty-eight years, Bethann, was employed as an instrument technician for Mercy Memorial Hospital.   After her retirement she and Udell enjoyed traveling, with Las Vegas being one of their preferred destinations.   Bethann also liked to shop.    

Bethann was well known for her friendly personality and loving nature.   She had a strong faith in Christ, and received her spiritual nourishment with regular attendance at St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Bethann Johnson, age 84, of Monroe passed of natural causes in the care of ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital on Sunday, December 23, 2018. Her passing was preceded by her parents: Dorthy and Horace Irby.

To cherish her memory Bethann leaves behind her beloved husband of sixty-five years: Udell Johnson of Monroe; her son:  Keith A. (Paula) Johnson of Iowa; her daughter: Shelly K. Willett of Monroe; one sister:  Marlene Moosman of Colorado; one grandson Ryan Willett; and one great-grandson Gavin Bajor.
