Obituary of Sandra Faye Barnes
Sandra Faye May was born on December 15, 1963 in Middlesboro, Kentucky. She was born from the union of the late Dennis May Sr and the late Bettie (Davis) May.
On January 23, 1982 at the High Street Baptist Church in LaFollette, Tennessee, Sandy married the love of her life, Damon Barnes. God blessed them with two wonderful sons. Sandra worked for more than thirty years for Bill Copi Insurance Agency. She loved taking care of customers, many of whom became good friends. It was not unusual for her to drive them to the hospital, church or to run errands. It was who she was, full of passion and ready to help.
Sandra would often say “I am so blessed!” She had an infectious smile and loved life. Sandra always saw the glass half full, never half empty. She was genuine, sincere and loved by all who knew her. Sandy had many hobbies, especially riding co-pilot with her husband touring the USA on their Harley Davidson motorcycle. She loved camping and off-road riding with family and friends. Sandy always enjoyed the beauty of nature and loved traveling to new places, often cruising the Caribbean and Tropics. Sandy loved to cook and was very good at it, providing many meals for her family to share. She loved the outdoors and had a green thumb, tending to her gardens often and mowing the lawn. Sandy enjoyed karaoke with friends, bowling and get togethers were frequent.
Above all, Sandy’s greatest joy came from time spent with her grandchildren: Krisalin, Paxton and Brynn, they were her world! All trips and adventures had to be two weeks or less. That is about as long as she could be away from those grandbabies.
Sandra Faye Barnes, age 54 of Carleton went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 6, 2018 peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. She had tremendous faith in Jesus Christ, her personal Lord and Savior. Sandra was preceded by her parents Dennis and Bettie May.
It is then she gave the greatest gift of all to her husband and family. Sandra Barnes passed with a beautiful smile on her face.
To cherish her memory, Sandra leaves her loving husband of nearly thirty-seven years: Damon Barnes of Carleton; two sons: Robert (Nicole) Barnes of Monroe and Damon (Brittney) Barnes II of Carleton; sister: Cheryl (Gary) VanEeckhoutte of Newport; grandchildren: Krisalin Barnes, Paxton Barnes and Brynn Barnes; and many friends.
