Obituary of Charles McBride

Please share a memory of Charles to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Chuck was born in Dearborn, Michigan on September 16, 1970. The son of Bonnie Lajiness and the late Robert McBride, Chuck attended Jefferson Schools graduating in 1988. Chuck proudly served his community as a Firefighter/EMT for Frenchtown Charter Township for more than eighteen years. A passionate IAFF Local 3233 member, he served his brothers as union President. Chuck married the love of his life the former Shelly Holbrook on September 13, 2003 at Monroe Missionary Baptist Church where they would make their church home. A devout Christian, he recently had committed to spending more time in Bible study. Chuck was a family man; a supportive husband, loving father to his "Daddy's Girl", Ava, and a beloved son, brother, and uncle. He loved the outdoors and spent time camping with family, hunting, fishing, turtle trapping, and playing softball over the years. Chuck enjoyed family walks with Shelly, and Ava, and the three family dogs: Rusty, K.K., and Poe. He always made time for Ava whether taking her to church, playing games on his hands and knees, horsing around and tickling, or going out to the movies. Chuck enjoyed home improvement projects with Shelly and shooting hoops in the yard, unfortunately he had to admit she could beat him in heals. He also enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, and was an avid conversationalist. Charles "Chuck" Alexander McBride, age 42 of Monroe passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013. In addition to his father, his passing was preceded by a son: Robert Alexander McBride; sisters: Julia and Amy McBride; and brother: Kevin. To cherish his memory he leaves a loving wife: Shelly; daughter: Ava Nicole; mother: Bonnie McBride; sister: Julie (Todd) Prill; father and mother-in-law: Dick and Norma Holbrook; brothers-in-law: Larry (Lucy) Holbrook and Richard (Melissa) Holbrook; sister-in-law: Jackie (Rob) Duston of Newark; and many nieces and nephews.
