Obituary of Lloyd Alfred Kominek
Lloyd Alfred Kominek was born on December 6, 1936 in Carleton, Michigan. He was one of two children born from the union of his parents: the late Frank John Kominek and the late Elva Helen (Finzel) Kominek. Lloyd met and married the love of his life: Joyce Ann Parker on February 13, 1960 in Monroe, Michigan. Together, the two decided to start a family of their own and were blessed with two children.
To support his growing family, Lloyd worked as a farmer. He enjoyed working and tending to the land as he always enjoyed the simple things in life. The experience he gained on the farm made him everybody’s “go to guy” for advice and he was always more than willing to lend a hand to help others in need. Lloyd always kept busy whether he was hauling water, preparing wood or tinkering with projects around the house.
Above anything, Lloyd was a family man whose main concern in life was to take care of his family. He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed the precious time he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, earning him his infamous nickname “Pa”. His generous nature and kind soul will be missed by his family and everyone who knew him.
Lloyd Alfred Kominek, age 81, of Carleton, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. His passing is preceded by his parents.
To cherish his memory, he leaves his beloved wife of 58 years: Joyce Ann Kominek; his son: Richard (the late Lois) Kominek; his daughter: Kristine (Rick) Ragsdel; his twin brother: Floyd (Juanita) Kominek; his grandchildren: Richard “Rick” (Brenda) Kominek, Chadrick (Angie) Ragsdel, Jami (Jeff) Lee and Nicholas Ragsdel; and his great grandchildren: Hailey, Chloe, Dawson, Ally, Colton, Stella, Lilly, Sydney and Briella. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
