Kathleen Matzo was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 7, 1944. She was one of four children born from the union of the late Andrew Matzo and the late Cathryn (Costello) Matzo. She was a graduate of All Saints High School. Kathleen married the love of her life Gene Enderton on May 30, 1963 in Lincoln Park, Michigan. The young couple moved to Monroe in 1963 to start a family. From this marriage came the birth of three children. Kathleen worked for more than twenty years as a hairdresser and beautician for the Immaculate House of Mary (IHM) in Monroe. Kathleen cherished the time she spent with her family. She loved family get-together's and meals the most. She was a loving wife and she loved being a mother and grandmother. She considered herself blessed with six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In her spare time Kathleen loved to read and watch television. She also loved the holidays and enjoyed decorating her home. She liked the holidays the most because of the opportunity to share and give with others. Her life touched many. Kathleen Enderton age 67 of Monroe passed away at 8:45am, Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at her home. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by a sister: Joan. To cherish her memory she leaves a beloved husband of 48 years: Gene Enderton of Monroe; one daughter: Laura (Ronald) Eby of Ida; two sons: Randy Enderton of Monroe and Jeff (Jessica) Enderton of Portland, Oregon; one brother: Jim (Patti) Matzo of Wyandotte; one sister: Marianne (Roland) LaPort of Oklahoma; six grandchildren: Crystal (Matt) Stotz, Tim (Erika) Fish, Kia Eby, Trevor Eby, Keira Eby, and Kina Eby; and two great grandchildren: Ethan and Ayden. Friends may gather from 4:00pm until 7:00pm, Friday, November 11, 2011 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will follow at 7:00pm also at Merkle's with Sister Kate O'Brien Chaplain of Mercy Memorial Hospice officiating. Cremation will follow.
