James "Jim" Murray

Obituary of James "Jim" Patrick Murray

James Patrick Murray was born on July 3, 1967 in Hazel Crest, Illinois.   He was the only child born from the union of the late Earl Willard Murray and the late Sandra Kay (Potter) Murray.   Jim graduated High School with the class of 1985.

Jim was a dedicated, hardworking man.   He worked in the Environmental Industry as a Field Technician in Illinois for many years until his job moved him to Michigan.   Soon after arriving he would meet the love of his life:  Summer Hall.   The couple had a special bond and shared many similar interests making wonderful memories together.

Jim quickly stepped up as father figure to Summer’s son:  Gabriel Hall.   He assisted wherever and whenever it was necessary even volunteering with Gabriel’s Boy Scout group and serving as a coach on his township baseball league team.   Jim was a very caring and loving partner and father.

Jim had an open-door policy for all of his friends and neighbors.   Namely, if the garage door was open, he was home, and one should stop over.   He loved to entertain and liked watching fireworks shows and hosting his annual Fourth of July Bash.

Jim was an avid outdoorsman, and his favorite activities included hunting and fishing.   An unabashed animal lover, he made his home with two dogs and a cat of his own.

James “Jim” Patrick Murray, age 51 of Monroe passed away unexpectedly in the Emergency Department of ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital on Saturday, July 7, 2018. His passing was preceded by his parents.
