Samuel Vassallo

Obituary of Samuel Vassallo

Samuel Vassallo was born on August 13, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan. He was born from the union of his parents: the late Nikola Vassallo and the late Thelma Tosh. He received his education from Cass Tech and graduated with honors in route to receiving his boiler operator’s license.

Sam met and married the love of his life, Evangelina Hinojosa, on March 14, 1964. They decided to start a family of their own and were blessed with three beautiful children: two daughters and a son. To provide for his family, Sam knew no limits; he showcased this determination by successfully investing in multiple Real Estate ventures, which paved the way for his family’s success. Sam also worked at General Motors for 17 years as a Boiler Operator until he retired in 1991.

Sam loved to be one with nature and enjoyed countless hours outside fishing and hunting, goose hunting being his favorite. He also enjoyed a nice visit to the casino where we could test his luck and win big. He was a social butterfly who could talk to anyone; Sam’s presence would invariably light up the room he was in. He had a great sense of humor and made lasting friends easily – he was selfless, caring, giving and helpful to anyone in need.

Family always came first for Sam. He was a loving husband, a nurturing father and the best grandfather anyone could ask for. His kind heart and loving presence will be missed by everyone who knew him.
