Obituary of Edward Henry Schultz Jr
Edward Henry Schultz, Jr. was born on January 6, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan. He was one of two children born from the union of his parents: the late Edward H. Schultz, Sr. and the late Ethel (Phillips) Schultz. He attended Airport High School in Carleton and graduated with the class of 1962. In September of 1967, he was drafted into the United States Army and served in Korea for 15 months. He proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1984.
To support his family, he worked for General Motors until he transferred to DT&I Railroad where he stayed until he retired. Edward was very active in the Non-Commissioned Officers Association (NCOA) and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
Edward Henry Schultz, Jr., age 74, of Oak Park, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. In addition to his parents, his passing is preceded by a son: Fred A. Schultz and a granddaughter: Marissa Schultz.
To cherish his memory, he leaves his children: Edward H. (Connie) Schultz III of Ida, Amy R. Root of Monroe and Jesse (Sierra) Caudil of Kentucky; his sister: Irene (David) Southworth of Taylor; his grandchildren: Johanna K. Schultz of Newport, Alaynna M. Schultz of Ida, Anthony M. Root of Monroe, Dayna N. Root of Monroe and Edward, Bryan and Dustin Caudil of Kentucky and many extended family members and friends.
