Obituary of Matthew James Stanfill

Matthew James Stanfill the beautiful dark hair and dark eyed son of Matthew R. and Kacie K. (Kansier) Stanfill was born at 4:20am on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Motts Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan.   He was blessed with his mother’s looks and his father’s fingers and toes.   At just twenty-six weeks, Matthew was born unexpectedly, weighing only 2 pounds and 4 ounces.  

Matthew’s arrival had been greatly anticipated by his loving family.   His proud parents were certainly excited about the birth of their second child and their first son, and big sister Lily could barely contain herself about the thought of having a little brother to look after.

The beginning of his earthly life was sure to be difficult, and he had prayer warriors throughout the Monroe community.   Matthew was very strong and fought valiantly, but the task was too great and he was called home to heavenly glory on Friday, June 8, 2018.

To cherish his memory he leaves his loving parents:  Matthew and Kacie Stanfill of Monroe; his big sister:  Lily Kate-Louise Stanfill of Monroe; paternal grandparents:  Steven C. and Yvonne M. Stanfill of Monroe; maternal grandparents:  Jim and Debby Kansier of Monroe; paternal great grandparents:  David Jones and Judie Atwood of LaSalle; maternal great grandmother:  Jeanne Woods of Monroe; three uncles:  Craig S. (Luise) Stanfill, Christopher Kansier, and Jeffrey (Nikki) Kansier all of Monroe; an aunt:  Megan Kansier of Monroe; six cousins:  Allie, Quinn, Jeffrey, Gracie, Joshua, and Makenna Kansier; and a host of extended family members.

Friends may gather from 10:00am until 12:00pm on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185.   A Celebration of His Life will take place at 12:00pm with Pastor Roy Southerland of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church officiating.
