Obituary of Wilma Jane Vallie
Wilma “Jane” Erving was born on September 7, 1930 in Lincoln Park. She was one of three children born from the union of her parents: the late Armin Erving and the late Carrie (Little) Erving. She received her education from Lincoln Park High School and graduated with the class of 1948.
Jane married the love of her life William Vallie, Sr. on May 27, 1950. It was from this union that came the birth of their three children. She worked as a homemaker and made sure that her family was well taken care of. Together, they stayed in Lincoln Park until retirement in Tamarac, Florida where they stayed until her health declined and they moved back to Michigan.
Prior to her retirement in Florida, she enjoyed spending time at their cabin in northern Michigan. Jane enjoyed spending time in the clubhouse swimming pool, playing bingo and attending “Red Hat” luncheons with friends. She loved going on cruises with friends and family.
Above anything, she loved her family. She cherished the time she got to spend with her great grandchildren and would light up when they would come to visit. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Wilma “Jane” Vallie, age 87, of Monroe, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Alice Lorraine Care Center surrounded by her family. Her passing is preceded by her brothers: Ronald Erving and Leland Erving; her daughter in law: Sally Vallie and her parents: Armin and Carrie Erving.
