Obituary of Jeanette Francis Klatt

Jeanette Frances Wood was born on July 4, 1933 in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of eight children born from the union of the late Kempf Wood and the late Rosella (Fix) Wood. Jeanette married the love of her life: Harold Klatt on October 1, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Monroe and was blessed with five beautiful children. To support her family, Jeanette worked for many years as a nurse.

Jeanette was an avid Detroit sports fan who enjoyed watching the Red Wings, Tigers and Lions. Some of her favorite hobbies included playing BINGO, watching gameshows, reading the paper, doing crossword puzzles and playing cards; especially Euchre, Skip-Bo, and she loved to watch it snow outside.  She was a great cook and made the best spaghetti and meatballs, meatloaf and baked goods.

Above all, she loved and lived for her family. She cherished her time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her loving personality will be missed by all who knew her.

Jeanette Frances Klatt, age 84, of Deerfield, passed away Sunday morning in her home under the care of Great Lakes Caring Hospice. Her passing is preceded by her husband: Harold Klatt, her daughter: Jayne Klatt, her sister: Yvonne Lambert; her brothers: Chuck (Eleanor) Wood and Ben (the late Norma) Wood; her grandsons: Sammy, Steven and Brandon and her parents.

To cherish her memory, she leaves her children: Donna (the late Sam) Moser, Doug (Kristen Westfall) Klatt, Judy (David Zurek) Walton and Dennis (Blanca Ybara) Klatt; her siblings: Fred (Ann) Wood, Paulette (the late Jimmy) Emery, Karen (the late Jimmy) Martin and Rita (Scott) Larrow; her grandchildren: Misty, Nikki, Kayla, Joshua who serves in the Navy, Erica, Brooklynn, DJ, Ashley, Jayden, Meagan, Michael and Taylor; her great grandchildren: Sammy, Sean and Brinley; brother and sisters in law: Robert Klatt, Marilyn Allred and Richard (Anita) Klatt, a close nephew: Zachary Lambert and many other nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Friends may gather on Friday, April 27 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734)384-5185. She will lie-in-state on Saturday, April 28 at 10:00am until a Celebration of Her at 11:00am at Lower Light Church, 300 East Elm Street, Petersburg. Memorial donations are suggested to Great Lakes Caring Hospice of Lenawee.
