Obituary of Diana Cupp

Please share a memory of Diana to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Diana Mary Lajiness was born October 19, 1953 in Monroe. She was one of four children born from the union of the late Gerald A. Lajiness and Mary (Osborne) Lajiness. Diana attended St. Joseph Catholic School and was a 1971 graduate of St. Mary's Academy. Diana married the love of her life, David B. Cupp on October 5, 1973 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Monroe. From this union came the birth of two children. Diana was a loving and supportive wife and mother, and took great pride in her responsibilities. Everyone knew Diane as "Gram" or "Aunt Diane". She was the family photographer, always snapping views of family, friends, and exotic trips. Diana treasured her grandchildren greatly. She referred to them as her "everything". She loved to snuggle and cuddle them and always reminded them, "I love you more". Diana was a constant fixture at their events whether soccer, baseball, or dance recitals. She was always encouraging their talents. After David's retirement the two became avid travelers. They visited Las Vegas, Italy, Cabbos, Barbados, and had cruised the Caribbean. Diana loved bingo and played everywhere from St. Anne's on Friday nights to Las Vegas, Nevada. Diana Mary Cupp, age 59 of Monroe, passed away on March 26, 2013 due to an automobile accident. Her passing was preceded by her father and a brother: Gerald "Jeb" Lajiness II. Her sister Donna Lajiness passed away on March 27, 2013. To cherish her memory Diana leaves her beloved husband of nearly forty years: David of Monroe; children: Melissa (Spencer) Maniaci and David Cupp II both of Monroe; mother: Mary Lajiness of Monroe; sister: Debi (Eugene "Bubba") Bezeau of Monroe; seven grandchildren: Logan Cupp, Alexzander Maniaci, Dyllan Cupp, Nicolas Maniaci, Kaelyn Maniaci, David Cupp III, and Noah Cupp; and six nieces and nephews. Friends may gather from 1:00pm until 8:00pm, Friday, March 29, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe (734) 384-5185.
