Obituary of James Rodney Salter
James Rodney Salter was born in Mansfield, Ohio on February 16, 1964. The son of the late James Robert Salter and the late Jeanne Delores (Opel) Salter, he had three other brothers. James lettered in football for the Lake High School Flyers graduating with the Class of 1982.
He married Cheryl Corron and together the couple would share in the birth of three children: Joe, Cory, and Amy. James enjoyed working with his hands, and since he worked as a mechanic in semi-truck repair he wasn’t afraid to get them dirty either.
He was an avid football fan and enjoyed watching games in his free time. James also loved to eat and on more than one occasion had delighted in a visit to the Morton Steak House. He also loved rock music and took in concerts when he was able. His favorite artist was Detroit’s own Kid Rock.
James Rodney Salter, age 53, of Toledo passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, February 10, 2018.
To cherish his memory, James leaves two sons: Joseph Robert (Alexia) Corron of Findlay, Ohio and Cory James (Christina) Corron of McComb, Ohio; one daughter: Amy Jean (Todd) Reid of Findlay, Ohio; three brothers: Johnathan Salter, Robert Salter, and Tim Fox; and twelve grandchildren.
