Obituary of Marvin "Eddie" Edward Berry
Marvin Edward Berry was born on September 27, 1956 in Monroe. He was one of six children born from the union of the late Junior Berry and the late Helen (Lovell) Berry.
Eddie worked many years as a laborer in Construction with the Union Local 465 and was proud to be a member. An avid sports fan, he loved the Detroit Tigers and the Boston Celtics. In his younger years he loved to play baseball and was the fastest person on the team earning him the nickname “Birdman.” He enjoyed talking politics and considered himself to be an “Old-School Democrat.” He was also an active member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles and enjoyed spending his free time there with his close friends.
Eddie was very meticulous about his house and was very patriotic. This was apparent by the numerous eagles and flags that were collected throughout the years. He was thoughtful and generous and would help anyone he could in need. In 1999, he gave his heart to the lord and received his spiritual nourishment by attending Grape Missionary Baptist Church.
Above anything else, Eddie was a family man and loved to spend as much time as he could with his granddaughters. Pizza Fridays and Donut Saturdays will be a memory forever cherished by his family.
