Obituary of Jakaya Eliese Paige
Jakaya Eliese Paige was born on November 4, 1991 in Detroit, Michigan. She was the second oldest of five children born from the late Angela Paige. She attended school at David Mackenzie High School in Detroit and graduated from Monroe High School. She decided to further her education by attending college at Wayne State University in Detroit. She had a passion for helping people, was studying to become a phlebotomist and pursued a career in the health field working as a Medical Assistant. She received her spiritual nourishment at Bible Standard Church of God in Detroit at an early age and continued her faith by attending the River Raisin Worship Center in Monroe.
Jakaya met the love of her life, Steven Laboe in 2010 and from their union came the birth of their son, Alonzo Laboe in 2014. They moved as a family from Monroe to Toledo in 2016. There was nothing that made her happier than to watch her son grow. She was an excellent mother, companion and friend. Family was most important to her as well as her relationship with Jesus. Some of her favorite things to do included spending time with her family, listening to music, especially R&B and Hip hop, cooking, and reading.
Known to all for her loving smile and funny personality she was the true definition of a humanitarian. She was a loving, caring and giving person who wanted nothing more than to help those around her. Her fun-loving personality made her a joy to be around and she was loved by everyone who met her. To know her was to love her, and she will be missed by many.
