Obituary of Gavin Jordan Wethington
Gavin Jordan Wethington was born on December 3, 2000 in Monroe. He was born from the union of Dominic Wethington and Salina Evans.
Gavin attended Airport High School where he was a Junior and participated in many activites. He enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, football, and running track while making many lifelong friends along the way. Gavin loved fast cars, music, and his shoes, but his most prized possession was his Ford Ranger. Most days he spent more time in or around his truck, customizing every little detail or washing and cleaning it, than he did in the house. He loved to just sit in his truck in the driveway or drive anywhere he could, so he could blast his system. He would sit in his brother Gauge’s room with him and they would write songs together. At the young age of 1, Gavin was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis and he fought like a warrior every day to beat it and not let it beat him.
Gavin had a million dollar smile that could light up a room when he walked in. He loved to be the center of attention and was always dressed up flashy, taking a million pictures. He was quite outgoing, but often a little clumsy earning his him nickname “Skid Jr.” Gavin, who was a natural funny guy and jokester, loved to keep you on your toes. His good-hearted nature and creative personality made him just the person you wanted to be around as he could always make you laugh.
Gavin was an avid Michigan State fan as everyone could tell when you saw his truck keys. He always had a fresh pair of kicks on. You'd never see him anywhere without one of the newest Nike’s, Jordan’s, Vans or one of the many other kinds of shoes he had on. His selection could outshine any females any day of the week. Gavin cared deeply for his family and friends. He was an amazing big brother and always helpful to others. He spent every night cuddled up with his favorite little sidekick, Pixie, one of the family pets.
