Obituary of Anna Mae Smith

Anna Mae Myers was born on May 13, 1930 in Tiffin, Ohio. She is one of four children born from the late Shelby V. Myers and the late Francis Elizabeth (Davies) Duffey. Anna attended Tiffin Columbian High School and graduated with the class of 1948.

Anna was married to John Ruse and had three children, Beverly, Mickie and Lucy. She married Robert W. Smith in 1953 and had six children, Chuck, Bob, Tony, John, Angel, and Shelby.  After Robert passed she married a third time and had two children, Matt and Keith.  Anna’s family meant the most to her. She enjoyed spending time with her children, especially watching her grandchildren grow.

Anna was very involved with her church community. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church, Riverview Congregation. There she taught Sunday school and was the play director for many years. In her spare time, she would often be knitting, working on her cross stitch or sewing. Anna also enjoyed a good crossword puzzle in her free time.

Anna Mae Myers, age 87 of Monroe passed away at 10:01am on Friday, January 19, 2018 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. In addition to her parents passing, her death is preceded by her beloved husband: Robert; daughter: Beverly Ruse; sister: Betty Blust; brother: Bill Myers.

To cherish her memory, she leaves her children: Mickie Bloom of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Lucy Ruse of Tiffin, Ohio, Chuck Smith of Kansas, Ohio, Bob Smith of Monroe, Tony Smith of Gibsonburg, Ohio, John Smith of Gibsonburg, Ohio, Angel Smith of Kalamazoo, Shelby Smith of Newport, Matt Smith of Rising Sun, Ohio and Keith Smith of Monroe; her sister: Carol Bryant of Tiffin, Ohio; and a plethora of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
