Obituary of Carol A. Lemanski
Carol A. Cwiertniewicz was born on December 6, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan. She was one of four children born from the union of the late Joseph Cwiertniewicz and the late Gertrude (Lock) Cwiertniewicz. She grew up in Detroit graduating from with the Class of 1955.
Carol was blessed with the birth of four children: Marlene, Susan, Jerome, and Gregory. She was a very loving and devoted mother raising them mostly on her own. For many years she was employed at The Lincoln Mercury Dealerships in Monroe. There she served in many capacities including working as a Secretary and Receptionist. She retired in 2000.
Carol received her spiritual nourishment as a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church- Monroe, Michigan. Although she was known to be strong-willed and never afraid to tell others how she felt, Carol always put her children first and was a great and sacrificing mother. She loved being involved in her sons sporting events, whether it was cheering them on, bringing snacks for the team, or hosting team dinners. Later in life she was blessed again with grandchildren. She cherished them as well and often attended their sporting events, plays, dance competitions and any other extracurricular activities.
Carol enjoyed going to bingo halls and visiting the casinos. She, being an avid sports fan loved to follow Detroit sports teams and especially the Tigers whom she had had the opportunity to watch play in the Summer of 2017.
Carol A. Lemanski, age 80 years, of Monroe, passed away at Fountainview of Monroe at 4:28pm on Saturday; January 13, 2018. She had been under the care of Great Lakes Caring Hospice. Her parents preceded her passing.
To cherish her memory Carol leaves two daughters: Marlene Lemanski of Monroe and Susan (Paul) VanEeckhoutte Sr. of LaSalle; two sons: Jerome (Kimberly) Lemanski of Monroe and Gregory Lemanski; one sister: Joan Fletcher; two brothers: Robert Cwiertniewicz and Joseph Cwiertniewicz; seven grandchildren: Kevin Lemanski, Sabrina (Tyler A.) Roberts, Chelsea (Joshua) Hicks, Preston Lemanski, Taylor Lemanski, Morgan Lemanski, and Dominque Lemanski; one step grandchild: Paul VanEeckhoutte Jr.; step great granddaughter: Madison Singleton.
Friends may gather from 10:00am until 12:00pm on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Merkle Funeral Service; 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:00pm also at Merkle’s with Pastor Daniel Potts Associate Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.
