Obituary of Ivan Edward Yoas
Ivan Edward Yoas was born on May 30, 1945 in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of two children born from the union of the late Raymond Godfrey Yoas and Marion Naomi (Calkins) Yoas. Ivan was raised in Newport, graduating from Airport High School with the Class of 1964. He then attended Michigan State University.
Ivan married the former Diane Floering, on March 16, 1968 at Zion Lutheran Church. The couple would be blessed with the birth of two son: Gary and Todd. Ivan worked hard and was a devoted provider for his family. For many years he worked in the trucking industry as a diesel mechanic. He retired in 2015.
Ivan was known to be quite strong-willed. He was generous and always willing to help others. His easy-going attitude was quite appreciated by those that knew and loved him. Ivan took the responsibility of raising men very important and was a great role model for his boys.
Spending time with family was by far, Ivan’s favorite thing to do. Many vacations were spent camping throughout Ohio and Michigan, and this afforded him the opportunity to watch his grandsons grow. He loved model trains and caring for his four-legged companions a dog and two cats.
Ivan Edward Yoas, age 72, of South Rockwood passed away unexpectedly at 1:49am on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Henry Ford Hospital in Brownstown. In addition to his father: Raymond, his passing was preceded by a sister: Wanda Elma Koenig.
To cherish his memory, Ivan leaves his beloved wife of forty-nine years: Diane Yoas of South Rockwood; his mother: Marion Yoas of Newport; two sons: Gary Raymond (Tammy) Yoas of South Rockwood and Todd Allan (Melissa) Yoas of Carleton; and three grandsons: Keith Ivan Yoas, Dillon Charles Yoas, and Blake Allan Yoas.
