Obituary of Gerald King Emerson

Gerald King Emerson was born on April 7, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois.   He was one of three children born from the union of the late Melville Emerson and the late Marie (Gibbs) Emerson.   Gerald received his High School Diploma and shortly thereafter enlisted in the United States Air Force where he would honorably serve his country.

Gerald married the love of his life, the former Pansy Wimmer on August 30, 1985 in Lincoln Park, Michigan.   For twenty-five years, Gerald was employed by Mid-America Gunite as an Accountant/Estimator.

Gerald loved the outdoors and he enjoyed travel.   For many years he took an annual jaunt to Alaska.   On one such trip he proudly caught a 146 pound Halibut.   Gerald loved exploring many places throughout the United States.   One of his favorite destinations was right here at his home the past thirty-two years boating on Lake Erie.   Whenever able, Gerald liked to visit his brother; Donald in Chicago and the two would drink some old style beers.

Gerald enjoyed working out in his later years to stay in shape.   He was an avid golfer and sports fan.   His wife, Pansy in fact declared him the Detroit Red Wings #1 fan.   Gerald also enjoyed watching baseball, with the Detroit Tigers being his favorite, and he never missed the opportunity to watch his grandchildren play a game.
