Daniel Ivo Braden September 4, 1925 - March 17, 2013 Daniel was born in Speedwell, Tennessee on September 4, 1925. He was the son of the late John Henry and Mary Ann (Cain) Braden. Daniel moved to Michigan in 1945. He was married to the love of his life the former Nada Irene (Wyreman) on July 6, 1946 by the Rev. Howard Cole his brother-in-law. He had been a former member of Pilgrim Holiness Church. Daniel was an extremely hard worker and an excellent provider for his family. He often worked three jobs at the same time and always had a part-time job. For most of his life Daniel worked as a Machine Operator in the Paper Manufacturing industry. He was employed by Jefferson Smurfit formerly Time Container retiring in 1990. Daniel enjoyed camping and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved to travel down South and visit his relatives and enjoy the beauty of the mountains. Daniel was an avid gardener, and the last few years he had enjoyed riding his lawnmower. Daniel Braden, age 87 of Monroe passed away at home on Sunday, March 17, 2013. He had been under the care of Great Lakes Hospice. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by daughter: Joyce Christine Nadeau; two grandchildren: Thomas West Jr. and Laura McNeil; seven sisters: Jane Emma, Obis, Sally, Roberta, Volene, and Izetta; and four brothers: Daris, David, Eli, and Dewey "Kyle". To cherish his memory he leaves a beloved wife Nada; three children: Margaret Pierce, Rose (Tom) West, and Daniel (Mary Lou) Braden; ten grandchildren including: Diane Braden whom he raised as his own, James and Steven Pierce, Angie (Steven) Higgins, James (Beth) West, Benjamin and Terry Nadeau, Michael, Corey (Andrea), and Amanda Braden; sixteen great grandchildren: Steven and Alyson Pierce, Joshua and Jordan Higgins, MacKenzie, Gage, Rayden, and Briggs West, Eric, Blake, Christa, and Eliza Nadeau, Moe Hussin, Krystalle and Nathanael Rumbarger, and Amelia Lozano. Friends may gather from 3:00-9:00pm Monday, March 18, 2013 and from 12:00pm until a Celebration of His Life at 2:00pm, Tuesday, March 19, at Bennett Funeral Service, 14567 South Dixie Highway (734) 384-5185. The Rev. Dale Kaufman of New Freedom Family Church officiating. Procession will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Great Lakes Hospice.
