Obituary of Robert Eugene Williamson Jr

Robert Eugene Williamson Jr was born August 5, 1948 in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of five children born from the union of the late Robert Eugene Williamson Sr and Josephine (Marchese) Williamson.

In his younger years, he was a handy man and could mend anything that was broken or needed to be fixed. He worked as a mechanic fueling his interest in cars and also as a cook.

In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors spending the days testing his luck fishing. His favorite spot to be was under the bridge at River Raisin and could be found there often.

Robert Eugene Williamson Jr, age 69, of Monroe, Michigan passed away January 1, 2018 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital suddenly. He is preceded in death by one brother Michael Williamson and his father.

To cherish his memory, he leaves behind his mother: Josephine; children: Jenia Watson of Monroe, Bobbie Shay Bryant of Rhode Island, Rosann (Al) Tackett of Monroe, Toni Williamson of Minnesota, Bobbie Jo Coch of Monroe, and Robert (Cheyenne) Williamson III of Monroe, his brothers: Donald (Kathy) Marchese of Monroe, Dennis (Judy) Williamson of LaSalle and Doyle (Lillian) Williamson of Monroe, fourteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

Friends may gather on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 10:00am to 3:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan (734)384-5185. A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00pm also at Merkle’s, with Eugene and Carole Jenne of Southern Monroe County Ministerial Association, officiating. Procession will follow to Woodland Cemetery in Monroe, Michigan for burial.
