Obituary of Betty Rennert

Please share a memory of Betty to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Betty Laverne Rennert was born in Memphis, Tennessee on April 25, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Bruce Atchley and the late Edna Taylor. Betty graduated Ypsilanti High School. Betty was the virtuous wife to Earl R. Whited (deceased July 21, 1963) and William Charles Rennert (deceased on January 20, 2008). She was a loving mother of five children and seven step-children and extended her kindness to her grandchildren. Betty's fortitude for life and her great love for the Lord allowed her to live her life with spirit, whether it was raising her family to love Jesus, getting her diploma in her fifties, or out-living Hospice, Betty did things on her own terms. Betty was spunky, vivacious, courageous, and strong. She was very involved with her church, teaching Sunday school, cooking, and attending banquets. She will be forever missed and loved, but we rejoice that she has obtained her reward. "....Well done good and faithful servant....enter thou into the joy of The Lord." Matthew 25:23 Betty Laverne Rennert age 83 of Tallahassee, Florida passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by both of her husbands. To cherish her memory she leaves her five children: Carol Taylor, Constance Hatt, Carenlee Phillips, Earl Whited Jr., Claude Whited; seven step-children: Thomas Rennert, Sandra Peace, Bill Rennert Jr., David Rennert, Patricia Melton, Michael Rennert, and Raymond Rennert; twenty seven grandchildren; forty eight great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 also at Merkle's. Pastor Nathaniel Nix of Pineview Church in Ypsilanti will be officiating.
